Laguna Escape — our 4 BHK villa in Panchgani

Laguna Escape sits at Wai, in the valley below Panchgani on the Krishna river. Four bedrooms with four bathrooms — one each, which matters when the house is full — its own private pool, ₹32,000 a night, rated 4.3 by guests, and part of our Most Desired Collection.

It is a whole private house: your group, your pool, your kitchen, your staff, and nobody else anywhere on the property. You book the house, never a room in it. Exact capacity and the full amenity list are on the villa's own page.

How many people can stay?

Eight to twelve across four bedrooms, with extra mattresses taking it higher. Four bathrooms for four bedrooms is the thing to note — at this size many houses give you three, and the difference shows on a Sunday morning.

If your group is larger, look at the five-bedroom houses in Panchgani, where The Ark has seven bathrooms for five bedrooms, or at Mahabaleshwar, which is a short drive away and 30 villas deep.

Where is Wai, and is it Panchgani?

Wai is the town in the Krishna valley directly below Panchgani, on the road up from the Pune side. It is a few minutes' drive from Panchgani itself and the two are booked interchangeably, in the same way that Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar are. You get the valley and the river rather than the plateau and the mist, and in the monsoon that is usually an advantage — Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar sit in cloud for weeks, Wai does not.

Wai is also where a good deal of Hindi cinema gets shot, for the ghats on the river and the old temples along them.

How much does it cost?

VillaStarting rate per night
Laguna Escape – Wai₹32,000

Starting rates, excluding taxes. Weekend, long-weekend and festival dates are priced higher. Send us your dates for an exact quote.

The calendar moves the price more than anything else. Long weekends, Diwali, Christmas and New Year are the dearest, and the monsoon is the Mahabaleshwar–Panchgani high season rather than the quiet one. April and May bring the Pune and Mumbai summer crowd up the ghat. Weekdays are substantially cheaper than Saturdays.

Meals are charged separately — see below.

Does it have a private pool?

Yes — its own pool, inside the gate, yours from check-in to check-out. Not shared, no slot to book. Stay Ananta has never listed a property without a private pool since 2017, across 600 villas in 40 locations.

There is no pool heating. Wai sits in the valley rather than on the plateau, so it is warmer than Panchgani or Mahabaleshwar and the water is usable for more of the year — but December and January mornings are still cold up here, so October, November and February are the comfortable swimming months.

Is food included in the booking?

Yes — a meal package is available and works the same way as across the collection. Food is cooked on site by the villa's own chef and kitchen staff, charged separately from the tariff, at a set rate per person per day with a reduced rate for children. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian menus, home-style Maharashtrian and North Indian.

Wai has places to eat and Panchgani's market is a few minutes up the road, so you are not stuck the way you would be deep in the ghats. Most groups still take breakfast and dinner at the house. Tell us the headcount, the number of children and any pure-vegetarian requirement and we will confirm the menu and the rate before you travel.

When is the best time to visit Panchgani?

SeasonMonthsWhat to expect
MonsoonJune–SeptemberThe plateau's signature season. Heavy rain, waterfalls, cloud. Wai in the valley is clearer than Panchgani above it
WinterOctober–FebruaryThe best all-round window. Clear days, cold mornings, strawberries from December
SummerMarch–MayThe traditional hill-station escape from Pune and Mumbai. Warm days, cool nights, busy weekends

One house means no alternative on your dates. Book four to six weeks ahead for an ordinary weekend and two to three months for long weekends, Diwali, Christmas and New Year.
