10 Things Every Luxury Villa Guest Does Before They Arrive

✍️ Stay Ananta🕐 5 min read
The difference between a good villa stay and an extraordinary one is rarely the villa itself — it’s the preparation. Over years of hosting guests across Alibaug, Lonavala, Goa, and beyond, we’ve noticed that the guests who have the most exceptional experiences consistently share a set of simple habits.

1. Arrange In-House Catering 24 Hours Before Check-In

Most Stay Ananta villas offer in-house meal service at an additional cost — but it requires 24 hours’ advance notice. In destinations like Alibaug where food delivery doesn’t operate, this is essential.

2. Coordinate IDs in the Group Chat Now

All guests require valid government-issued photo ID. Foreign nationals need passport and visa details before arrival. Send one message to the group today — chasing IDs at the gate is nobody’s idea of luxury.

3. Arrive During Daylight

Standard check-in is 2 PM. Arriving with natural light means you can see the grounds, unpack without rushing, and have an evening that starts relaxed rather than rushed.

4. Talk to the Caretaker on Arrival

Every Stay Ananta villa has a trained caretaker who knows the property and area intimately. Five minutes conversation will genuinely improve your stay.

5. Pre-Book Your Add-On Experiences

Bonfire setups, birthday decorations, barbecue arrangements, themed outdoor dinners — all require lead time. Contact Stay Ananta at least 48 hours before check-in.

6. Pack for the Microclimate

Lonavala and Mahabaleshwar can be surprisingly cool even in summer. Alibaug is breezy and coastal. Goa is warm but humid. Always pack a light layer for evenings poolside.

7. Bring Your Own Sundowner Supplies

The best villa evenings are when you don’t have to go anywhere. Stock up on wine, beer, or your preferred drink before check-in. Many of our properties are in areas where late-night shopping isn’t available.

8. Plan One Local Experience Per Day

One well-chosen excursion per day — a trek, a beach, a heritage site — and the rest of the time in the villa. Villas are meant to be lived in, not just slept in. The pool isn’t going anywhere.

9. Respect the House Rules

Every villa has rules — particularly around noise curfews (typically 10 PM outdoors), pool hours, and cooking permissions. Reading these before you arrive ensures you leave the security deposit intact.

10. Give Yourself a Sunday Buffer

Don’t check out and drive straight to a Monday meeting. The best villa stays end with a slow Sunday morning — the last swim, the last coffee on the terrace. Build that into your booking.

“A villa holiday should feel effortless. The preparation is what makes it so.”
